Crocheted Oreo Cookies

Doesn't everyone love Oreo cookies? I think they are one of the greatest snacks ever made. They are especially good with a cold glass of milk, yum! I love to crochet Oreo cookies in my spare time. They sell quite well on my other Etsy shop. http://www.judyjem.etsy.com/

Have I told you how much I love Etsy? Yes, it's true, you could say I'm addicted. I have to visit Etsy every single day and not just one visit, no it ends up being one visit every couple of hours. I not only love selling my handmade items on Etsy, I also love buying stuff! I get the biggest thrill when my package finally arrives in the mail. I'm like a big kid on Christmas day opening up my beautifully wrapped goodies. It's the most fun when the seller includes some kind of little freebie for me. I've gotten freebies like extra supplies, soap samples, a pair of earrings, and even a worry stone. It makes me feel warm all over!
Well, dinner must be made and the ravioli are calling my name. I don't have time to make my own sauce but the brand, "Simply Enjoy" from Stop and Shop is absolutely amazing. I also love, love, love Rao's but it's almost $10 a jar. Both brands make great substitutes for homemade. Try some!

I love making buttons!

It's true, I'm addicted to making fabric covered buttons! It all started a few months ago when I ordered some great buttons from butteredparsnips. She makes these darling buttons that she hand embroiders sheep onto using little white french knots. Anyway, as soon as I received the buttons in the mail, I couldn't stop looking at them. They were so darn cute!

I decided that I needed to open up a second Etsy shop and name it BumbleBeeButtons. That is exactly what I did and I'm happy with my decision.

Now, it really doesn't matter that I'm not selling tons of buttons. What matters is how much joy I get from creating the buttons. It's just plain fun!

I decided that I also needed to make other things using my buttons. I make push pins, magnets, and giant paper clips too.

My Blogging Days Have Just Begun!

Wow, my very first blog! I guess this means I've finally reached full maturity. When I was first introduced to a computer, it was my freshman year of high school in 1979. I can clearly remember my entire class being led down the hallway and into a large room that housed the one and only computer. I'm not exaggerating when I tell you the computer took up the entire room! It was an enormous, intimidating monster that I was sure I did not want to get acquainted with.

Well, here I am, many years later, at the ripe old age of 45 feeling just a wee bit less intimidated, but still not completely sure of myself when it comes to computers and the age of technology. When I walked into Walmart the other day to pick up some crafting supplies, I was shocked and saddened to see the entire craft section was taken over by electronics! What has this world come to? Where was the yarn, where was the fabric, where were all those beautiful scrapbooking papers and stickers? All I could see were gadgets and gizmos that I couldn't relate to, that I didn't understand, that I wasn't comfortable touching. I really missed that soft, inviting wool yarn. I left the store empty handed and headed for Michael's Crafts!!
